What are the hurdles to successfully designing and constructing such a supply? It seems that the weight savings would be substantial. Is the RFI problem the only barrier?
4CX1500, FU728F,4CX3000A7, 3CX3000A7, or YC156 as tubes are readily available new or as pulls.
2.5 KW out CW, SSB, or digital which will let it run any mode at the legal limit 24 X 7
Pass through antenna selection signals to detect antenna changes and trigger retuning. For instance, i have up to 48 (6 bands * 8 control lines) relay control lines from my antenna selection boxes. Automatic setting input level to achieve specified pep output. Preferably done without affecting the radio driving it.

What about a legal-limit amplifier in a kit form? A kit that is assemble-only and requires no soldering. The only electrical work would be installing pre-tested circuit boards and connecting them with simple connectors, only requiring a VOM for testing as each assembly test is completed.
I would like a solid state legal limit amp, which is reasonably priced. What they are asking for some of these amps is atrocious, I paid less for my first car than for what they want for amplifiers now a days. Even tube amps, some of the prices are simply outrageous on tube amps. Make it on the KISS principle, somebody has to have a nice amp at even 1KW that doesn't cost a small fortune.
