What are the hurdles to successfully designing and constructing such a supply? It seems that the weight savings would be substantial. Is the RFI problem the only barrier?

What about a legal-limit amplifier in a kit form? A kit that is assemble-only and requires no soldering. The only electrical work would be installing pre-tested circuit boards and connecting them with simple connectors, only requiring a VOM for testing as each assembly test is completed.

Pass through antenna selection signals to detect antenna changes and trigger retuning. For instance, i have up to 48 (6 bands * 8 control lines) relay control lines from my antenna selection boxes. Honest-to-God SO2R capability where two separate tuned inputs are switched to their own tuned outputs to share the RF deck across two different transceivers on two different bands. Share the expensive tube, power supply, and protection circuit while effectively doubling the input and output tuning circuit
